Bendita Posted June 6, 2014 Report Posted June 6, 2014 I printed out this beautiful wine bottle holder that I was going to cut out for my nephews wedding, well I printed all the pieces but neglected to see if the pieces were at least compatible well after spending the whole day cutting I found out they weren't. but at least I figured out what caused it, when you print your pattern the computer will ask you full sheet I always reply yes then the tricky question shrink to fit or crop to fit well as the other parts easily fit on the page it just skipped it but shrunk the bigger piece to fit it on one page, note to self always crop to fit so you see it. Lesson learned. Stogies and Phantom Scroller 2 Quote
Bendita Posted June 6, 2014 Author Report Posted June 6, 2014 I hope you don't spend a day cutting before you realize what you've done like I did? Kevin Quote
wombatie Posted June 7, 2014 Report Posted June 7, 2014 Haven't done that one yet but I'm sure I will. Marg Quote
knotbob Posted June 8, 2014 Report Posted June 8, 2014 I'll have to remember that so I don't do the same thing. The worst print error I've had in my shop wasn't entirely my fault. I built my home heavy work bench that would fold against the wall when I didn't need it. I think it was from a Woodsmith plan. When it was finished I bought a Wilton front vise to install and I took their template and marked the places I needed to tap holes or clean a trough for the screw and the blasted template was wrong. Wilton apologized and sent me some magnetic maple clamping faces but that didn't quite make up for the pain it caused me every time I folded the bench up and saw my hack job. Measure twice and cut once and check your templates! Robb Quote
