amazingkevin
Best thing ever happened to my scrolling comfort. It has all the bells and whistles.and no vibration or machine noise ENJOY! :)When you get the chance get the easy lift or the lifter to hold the arm up for your blade threading convenience! ubgoofy2003
Congrat's on the new saw purchase. I have had mine about 5 yrs. now & love it. Don't use it every day but, hasn't failed me yet. I don't know if you like to sit or stand while cutting, but, I like to sit & would not be without my foot switch. I had trouble with dust in the switch shortly after I got it, so ordered the foot switch right away & never had any trouble with it since. You will need to tape over the original switch to keep the dust out of it, even though you will just leave it in the on position. Hope you enjoy yours. I really think you will. Fay Prozora
Congrats on the big yellow! I've had mine since mid February and love it. I pretty much use it on a daily basis and some times work it kind of hard to get some thing done, but so far it is a great saw. I like the top feeding and I can change the blades with out having to tilt the table and trying to get that darned clamp on the lower arm. I can do it just by feel. I would get a good foot switch as the sawdust can get into the on/off switch and cause it not to start. The foot switch is a big help too when you need both hands on the wood. I have the light too but it is too heavy for the saw so will use it some where else and I now have 2 small lamps and that works great for me ,, no shadows. Enjoy your saw when you get it. Just be careful getting it out of the box and never lift by the arm. Just attach the table and put in a blade and your off and running. I like all the controls on the front of the saw and no more reaching waaaay to the back to adjust the tension! I don't even mess with the speed knob as it t ends to already be too fast for me. but this is a wonderful saw. I wished I had gotten it a long time ago. dansnow
Nah, within a day you'll wonder how you ever worked without a footswitch. I have one on my EX21 and can't picture trying to make some of the most delicate cuts without it!
Fay Prozora
A foot switch is not hard to get used to. Once you use it a few times , you'll be able to step on with out having to look for it. Mine was around $29 or $30 on Amazon. All you do is plug the cord to the switch into the wall outlet and then the saw cord into the outlet that is on the foot switch and then put the switch near where you either sit or stand. I stand when I scroll so all I have to do is step to one side and the saw is off and I can remove my piece or feed the blade into the fret work or what ever I'm working on. Take care.. Kepy
I like mine but think the easy lift is a waste. I purchased one but have never installed it as have never needed anything to hold up the arm. Do intend to get a foot switch as they are pretty cheap at HF and there are always coupons floating around. Not sure how it will work for me as I have to sit and can't leave my feet on the floor. Bendita
I always swore by my Delta until I got my DW in January I have a foot switch always did even with the Deltas I do not have a lifter as I think they are a waste of my money, I do not see the difference in weather I move a lever or remove a piece of wood perhaps a split second but I'm not running a production line so its ok. So far the DW has run 6-8 hours a day 5-6 days a week and hasn't given me any problems. I do strongly recommend the foot switch and tape of your other switch on top of the saw so dust can't enter or you'll end with a headache. Good luck with it look forward to seeing some results and hearing your feed back once you open the big yellow box.
rjR
I modified the stand to add shelves and put a decent light on it! I have a spring arm desk lamp and several holes along both sides of the added shelf. I can lift the light out of the hole and move it to the one that works best for my current project! I also use the bottom added shelf as a footrest and storage too. I set the legs in the "sliders" for hard floors. moves easily without trying to escape as you use it.
