Cut this plaque for a customer.  Cut from 1/4 in. ply.  Sealed with tung oil and top coated with shellac.

 

 

 

This is a vase from Steve Goods new book.  The facings are oak and the center is pine.  The vase was sealed with tung oil and top coated with shellac.

I like very much the golden color.I'm wondering if its from the Tung oil or the shellac.Great job fabricating all.

Everything looks super, really got a kick out of the plaque but wonder if more contrast would of made it easier to see and read.  The words and fish seem to blend in with the background.

Love the vases been thinking about that ebook Steve has available.

Jim the customer wanted this arrangement for the plaque so that is how I cut it.  I tend to agree with you however.

Awesome job.I'm not to sure how you would go back back and darken the the letters on the Fishing Plaque short of painting.But it and the Vase they do look Awesome. :thumbs:

They both came out great and I quite like the plaque  being all one color.  I know I'm strange.
