amazingkevin Posted July 8, 2014 Report Share Posted July 8, 2014 i've looked at Tung oil in the big box store and am not sure which I prefer,I think you have been using the amber one.that would be my choice instead of the clear.I've taken this project amongst a lot of other fish i did to bait and tackle shop here .Lots of fishing going on in this town of ft, lauerdale FL. But nobody was even slightly interested even the bass pro shop ,sports mans paradise.And I had all the fish available too.Bait and tackle shops turned their nose up.these were all stained antique cherry,and a few were key holders???Ahh! i guess i need shellac too i see.You did good on this one DW Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It is pure Tung Oil and I mix it down with Mineral Spirits. 60% tung Oil / 40% Mineral Spirits. It is the shellac that imparts the yellowing color.
