ike
My drill press is too small to drill all the holes in some patterns I tried using a hand drill I either break the drill or get it in the rong place. I have been looking for a Dermal plunge router at flee markets crag's list and garage sales. I GAVE UP TODAY AND WENT TO Lowes and BOUGHT ONE FOR $29.00. why did I wait so long to save a couple $$$. and it works swell. and it's such a small purchase that my wife didn't.t argue about it .She pays a lot more than that for a pure,( which she doesn't need} amazingkevin
amazingkevin
Carefull with your words Hans ,The wife never forgets them, lol.I'm the same way .I am so cheap with my spray glue, and have 6 bottles on hand that i use it sparingly for patterns and end up having to hold the pattern down at places because i didn't use enough glue, lol.I have the tools your talking about but don't use them.Guess i'm wired wrong.I got pretty good at drilling the holes with my battery drill, straight enough for government work!Better start on the dog house in case she get's wind of this post! Any price for perfume is cheap to keep the peace around the home, lol  lol Give her her space as there's not much in a dog house, lol

Kepy
I have found that it works great for small holes and I also have it close to my saw so when I'm cutting and find a missed spot, I don't have to get up to the drill press.
heppnerguy
I have the same problem with my drill press not being able to reach some holes in my patterns. So far I have been able to get to my holes with a bit in my dremel but as I start cutting more intriquet pieces, I may find that I too will invest in a plunge router.. I may even have one that i do not use,in the tool crib somewhere. thanks for your post, I might just take a few minutes and go look for mine, if i have one Dick heppnerguy
dansnow
Another vote here for the dremel plunge router. I had a custom order a few weeks ago that I couldn't reach with my drill press so started looking. Seyco sells a gadget that only drills holes for around $130!!! Got my dremel plunge router brand new at Lowes for $29 and it works great.
