wombatie
My DeWalt as just stopped working. Not sure what happened it just died. I checked the power point and thats fine. Hopefully my husband can fix it when he gets home from work. I feel so lost without it.. I see more of my scroll saw than I do my husband. Will let you know on the outcome. devsdad98
Hi, I don't know if it will help or not, but there is a site called old woodworking machines. The address is www.owwm.com They have a lot of manuals you can download. Maybe something in there that can help. Mark
Vector01
Hi Wombatie: Another area to check is the motor brushes. Depending on the age and use of the machine one or both could have worn. Check out this link about the Dewalt. As Grampa mentioned, there are a few Dewalt owners here that can point you in the right direction. http://www.scrollsaws.com/SawReviews/DewltTuneUp.htm
rja
I don't own a 788 but I have read that dust gets into the on/off switch. Taking the switch apart and blowing it out with compressed air restores its functionality.
wombatie
I really feel like a dumb blonde! My husband came home and pushed the plug on the side and away it went. Did I feel like an idiot?????? The plug had worked its way loose. So those of you with a DeWalt and it stops working, check the plug on the side first...LOL LOL By the way thanks guys for the suggestions they are very much appreciated. Travis
ROTFLOL Sounds like something I'd do. The only difference is, I'd have it ripped apart, put together again with "spare parts", and still be scratching my head.
