Opinions Please

Firstly I'd like to thank Grampa (Paul) for his beautiful pattern.
I just stack cut 2 of them and I'm not sure which backer to use the Red or the Black?? 

They are cut in 4mm Birch ply and finished just with one coat of spray sanding sealer and one coat of celulose lacquer (in a HVLP spray can) I picked up the lacquer at a display stand at a big woodworking show (Yandles in Somerset) it's a new product and as you can see one coat is plenty, and it's quick drying too so 30 mins from finish of sanding to finish framing.

I think they both look great. I prefer the red backer but that is my personal opinion. The black backer works just as good. Great cutting of a great pattern.

Keith first off.. Great job my friend.  I like both but I like the black a little better.  I think you might want to try to put a red backing under the heart alone and use black for the rest.  Thanks for sharing this with us.

First of all they look great.  Secondly I cannot decide, thats what being a Libran does to you.      BUT I do agree with DW, try making just the heart red and the rest black.

Thanks Keith I will keep an eye open for it. I have never seen a cap on a can like that. It looks like the nozzle flips up to spray. Out here in the Wild West we still have to apply with a brush maid from our horse’s hair.   :rofl:

No, that's a spare standard nozzle in the cap, the one on the can has an adjustable spray - it gives a flat spray adjustable feom about 1" wide to about 7" wide, very handy for small items - less overspray.
