keefie Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 (edited) Firstly I'd like to thank Grampa (Paul) for his beautiful pattern.I just stack cut 2 of them and I'm not sure which backer to use the Red or the Black?? They are cut in 4mm Birch ply and finished just with one coat of spray sanding sealer and one coat of celulose lacquer (in a HVLP spray can) I picked up the lacquer at a display stand at a big woodworking show (Yandles in Somerset) it's a new product and as you can see one coat is plenty, and it's quick drying too so 30 mins from finish of sanding to finish framing.Keith. Wilson's Woodworking Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 I think they both look great. I prefer the red backer but that is my personal opinion. The black backer works just as good. Great cutting of a great pattern. I need to find that finish here in the states. keefie 1 Quote
amazingkevin Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 Good job Keefie,!I couldn't down load both it takes to long. keefie 1 Quote
DWSUDEKUM Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 Keith first off.. Great job my friend. I like both but I like the black a little better. I think you might want to try to put a red backing under the heart alone and use black for the rest. Thanks for sharing this with us. DW Wilson's Woodworking, keefie and wombatie 3 Quote
Rob Roy Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 Hi Keith, superb job as usual. Like the black, but prefer the red and for some strange reason Marg 2 agrees. Nice finish too. Thanks for sharing Keith. Rob Roy. wombatie and keefie 2 Quote

wombatie Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 First of all they look great. Secondly I cannot decide, thats what being a Libran does to you. BUT I do agree with DW, try making just the heart red and the rest black. Marg keefie 1 Quote

Kepy Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 I would have to agree with DW as I think the red heart with the rest black would be outstanding. keefie 1 Quote

Thanks Keith I will keep an eye open for it. I have never seen a cap on a can like that. It looks like the nozzle flips up to spray. Out here in the Wild West we still have to apply with a brush maid from our horse’s hair. Edited July 30, 2014 by Wilson's Woodworking keefie 1 Quote
