Greetings from the NC/VA border

NC Scroller

Recommended Posts

I am not new to scrolling but new to this site.  I live in NC along the VA border.  I own two DW788's (one Type 1 and one Type 2) and an older Hawk.  I am blessed to have a detatched garage that is my shop.  I am still working so I do not get as much shop time as I would like but does anyone really get as much shop time as they want? When not working or in the shop I do some reading, fishing and even a little hunting.

I have played with some pattern designs but that is one area I really hope to focus on some day.

Looks like I'm first to greet you but rest of the group should be along pretty soon.
Welcome Scott, you must have some great fishing there. How big is your Bass boat?
Glad you're on board. What do you like most to scroll?
You can entertain us by showing some of your scroll work.
Have you toured the Village any? There is lots to see.
soon.

Geeze, I had to edit my post twice...any more errors....????

I don't care.

Hi Scott ,Welcome ,I too have both dewalts but never tryed the type 2 it's sitting on the shelve as a back up but have two more saws as a back up .Never too many back up's right, lol I tryed to find the difference in the two dewalts but didn't find anything.Yeah finding time to scroll that is the question.I'm bored not finding the perfect pattern to do.You and me both on the patterning,Just to much to remember for me ,but once you know you know.Keep coming back to see what you would have missed. I can't go a day with out coming here.My free wood supply is overwhelming and today i spent time and organized it all again .It was getting soaked from holes in my three tarps but now it should be ok .Always something to keep you from scrolling

we are blessed to have so many choices as to spend time doing what strikes our fancy ,enjoy what ever you do ,life is fickle and you will change as conditions in your health and interest modify ,enjoy while you are able ,time will come when choices are limited as are your abilities ,good luck ,keep the faith and to your own self be true! Every think else you will not regret missing.

Hello Scott welcome to the Village hope to see a lot of your stuff soon we love pictures here. Don't be shy check in often things keep changing and new patterns come up every day. I am one of the fortunate ones that can scroll when I want to, the only thing holding me back is getting new blades and some better quality wood.

But time is all mine. Good luck and again Welcome Scott

Hi Scott! Yes I know what you mean about that nasty thing called working keeping you away from your scroll saw. Awful just awful isn't it, but you have to do what you have to do to keep a roof over our heads and food in the family’s stomachs.

All we can do is scroll when we have a little time and enjoy what we do.

As mentioned above we love to see pictures even if you don’t think it is good enough, we all make a little decorative fire wood once in a while but mostly we are our own worst critics.

Welcome to the village and most of all have fun.

Hello Scott. I am from VA. My family used to go to nags head on vacation. Love the peanuts from that area. Would really like to see some of your work. I understand about work keeping us from the saw. There are days that i would much rather spend the day in my shop then going to work. Have a great day and scoll when you can and enjoy what you can
