amazingkevin Posted August 22, 2014 Report Posted August 22, 2014 (edited) and the blades used were the scroll reverse #3 from Flying Dutchman blades This is the first one i stained of all the ones i made and gave away. Its a mix of little half pint cans red mahogany ,maple, red oak,Tung oil and bright maple . I ended up with a light chestnut.I'm happy with that.I used to collect paint that people threw out and painted many homes with it .They'd tell me what color they would like and i come very close to it. My theory of mixing was a drop of one color equals a gallon So a few drops of this and that write it down show the color samples and we have a happy camper. The drop method was quicker than doing it gallon by gallon with no waste except a drop or two. worked for me for years. This project took about an hour too.
