Kragax Posted September 13, 2014 Report Posted September 13, 2014 Well, I got my new saw today, and I have mixed feelings so far. It is in great shape. But the lower blade clamp is a PITA. It runs away from me as it's set on the high speed. I was told that if you turn the pulley around it runs at half speed but, I don't know how to go about it yet. I am thinking about a rheostat on the power cord to control the speed but don't know if it will hurt the motor. So, the jury is still out. Quote

ike Posted September 14, 2014 Report Posted September 14, 2014 A LOT OF MOTORS ARE CONTROLLED WITH A REOSTATE. Quote
Kragax Posted September 14, 2014 Author Report Posted September 14, 2014 (edited) I have a manual, it just doesn't go into that. I did find the answer online though. I need to order a different belt and change the pulley around. I cuts like mad but too fast for me, Ill order the belt next week. Meanwhile practice, practice, practice. Can't use a rheostat as it is a cap start motor and it would cook it. Edited September 14, 2014 by Kragax Quote
