My customer sat with me for an hour discussing what she wanted (and drinking my tea), after a google image search she settled on a design, and she wanted to supply her own wood, a piece of old chip board. I showed her what wood I had but she insisted on hers, it would look rustic she said, she was not kidding. Not a pretty sight and it cuts like a stale biscuit, she still had it, though I think the smile was definitely fake, I am expecting another call later in the week.....

I think it is absolutely gorgeous, a lot of times we forget that beauty is in the eye of the beholder as much as we would prefer to use our taste of wood fiber, your customer has another vision. But in the end the customer is always right, he who has the gold makes the rules.

What's up Doc:

It can't get any rustickier ( is this a word???) than that.

I don't think it looks bad.

It's different that's for sure

I'll bet you that if she does call you back later in the week it will be to order

a few more

A thought would be to cut out a clear plastic 1/16" thick flexible the shape of your pattern and place it on the wood and move it around to capture the best look with random chip board designs. I like the results you got  as it makes me focus on the irregularities of the wood  chips. I 'm going to find me some now. Nicely done project.I've passed up plenty of chip board , but no more , endless ideas now!

Two quotes from Mr. Eastwood for you:

“It's not about you. It's about them.â€

“There's a rebel lying deep in my soul. Anytime anybody tells me the trend is such and such, I go the opposite direction. I hate the idea of trends. I hate imitation; I have a reverence for individuality.â€
