tvman44
Has anyone ordered Baltic Birch Ply from Woodcraft? Just wondering about the quality?

They had scroller packs of 12 x 12 pcs at that time also. I bought the sheets nd broke them down myself.

tvman44
The big box stores here do not carry BB ply, don't even know what it is.
Kragax
Believe it or not I have found it at (wait for it) Home Depot! I almost fell off the motorized chair! They have craft wood from time to time. I don't know if this is a regularly stocked item but I was shocked.
tvman44
Not around here. I have called all the local lumber yards, big box stores they don't have it and say they can't get it. Some don't even know what it is. I just got off ,the phone with Sloan's and ordered some 1/8" BB Ply. Can't wait to try cutting the pattern of the Dutch Ovens I received here. Bendita
I remember When I lived in Canada I used to buy what they called door skins for my scrolling but its only good on one side but a heck of a lot cheaper then birch and for portrait work you only need one good side. Scrappile
Where I am the big box stores do not carry Baltic Birch, they carry birch plywood. From my experience, what they carry is not a good as Baltic Birch, theirs can have void in it. I guess if you can work around the voids it might work okay. GrampaJim
I agree with Scrappile. Here in Wisconsin, Menards has Birch but not Baltic Birch that is not too bad. Fleet & Farm has some that I will never buy again - not good! I just got my first batch from Ocooch Hardwoods - they sell on line. Really nice! Wilson's Woodworking
I found some in Hobby Lobby. I am not sure if it was Baltic Birch or just burch but it was good quality stuff and no voids.
