rjR
Made from mostly free fence cedar and some purchased rawhide lacing. The torched effect is added and then a very quick spray coat of spray poly to keep the burned from leaving a trail on things. Sized to haul 2 64 oz. beer growlers and not get heavy. Already claimed sort of-- going on consignment at a brewers supply, maybe tomorrow already! The good thing is I can make more! I even made a sort of pattern for the one. The rawhide lacing was due to "pilot error"; I had put an upper slat on and realized the bottles would be very difficult to get in and out of that one! Being a contender for the "TIGHTWAD of the Year Award" -- I had to figure out a save! Now it as almost totally assembled, So my long bit and I drilled some holes for the lacing and proceeded. I actually think , I like the look of it now. The rawhide will wrap the top very securely for transportation! Comments and Ideas are always welcome! wombatie
I'm not sure but I think its a beer bottle / can tote, is that right? If it is, its a good idea and you did a terrific job, also in working out a solution to your problem too. Marg
Rob Roy
Super job Ralph, and I like the burning effect, quite unusual. A bit of brain work too getting your problem fixed. The only problem I see, is being a Scotsman, it's TOO SMALL . Great job. Rob Roy. Birchbark

Mort
I may borrow/modify this idea if its alright. I love it! My uncle is the sales manager of a craft brewery in the Seattle area, I bet if I made one and had it displayed in their tasting room, people would want them left and right. Mort
Well, here's what I came up with. I'm still working on the handle, might have to do something in leather. I tried turning a few, wasn't in love with them. Thanks for the inspiration!
rjR
I really like the looks of yours and they are really well made! A manila rope handle 1/2-- 3/4 inch thick! would be a neat addition as the handle! Through smaller holes with knotted ends!
Mort
That's what my wife suggested, some marine rope knotted at the end. Might have to find me some of it. Next time I'll do a better job at actually following the plan I had in my head rather than just start cutting stuff.
heppnerguy
makes one proud to tote the suds around in fixture like either of these. I like the unique way to haul the beer and make others wonder where you got them Dick heppnerguy
