SigP
I finished the portrait of my wife. I learned a lot, both in creating patterns and scrolling. Critique is welcome. SigP
Hi SigP: Well done Just enough detail What program(s) did you use to create the pattern From start to finish, how long did it take you to do the pattern (rough guess) Did you make the frame also? Keep up the great work Thanks for showing us Fab4 I used Gimp and Inkscape. Probably took about three hours. I'm still learning both programs. I did make the frame. Did that today. It is walnut with maple splines. For the pattern, I followed Travis' tutorials to learn the programs. Did a 'mix and match' to get the result I wanted. Thanks for the comments. heppnerguy
Kevin, He could work on your wood portrait for 3 days and I do not believe even he, could make you look like a beautiful woman.. but maybe Roly or Rob Roy would disagree. I will wait and see what they might have to say about it Dick heppnerguy I'm ashamed i can't understand instructions for patterning. For a first timer your very advanced. This is one beautiful woman You captured in wood.I'd be extremely happy to have you do portraits for me.You locked in all the key elements !Super job!!!4 stars out of 5!!! SigP
Thanks for the kind words. I certainly enjoyed working on it. I think I have found a new passion. Wish I had gotten a scroll saw years ago.
Around the corner
Very nice work on the portrait.Your learning pretty fast for not doing many. They are hard to do,as I have done a few and there are no flaws. When your relatives see this you better tell them to take a number, cause everybody will want one.
