ike
I bought a pack of them a couple of years ago. I used one didn't like it and discarded the rest of them. after that I recommend not to use box store blades. I like Olson's or FD
Craig R
Don't know if there is a Menards close by you, but they carry the Olsen blades. Which ike mentioned.
LarryEA
It isn't a question of quality of the blades. The big box stores do not carry the variety. Their smallest blade is usually the largest size I will use. The price is nearly double. At best there is only one spiral selection. Buy it, try it. I think in the end you are cheating yourself. Buy a variety from Sloan's or Mikes...
rjR
http://www.pozsgaidesigns.com/index.htmIs where I get my blades. He is a scrollsawer; not just a vendor! Treats everyone right! Has parts and even improvements also available at reasonable rates too!
Southern Scroller
I needed blades in a hurry for a pinewood derby workshop and picked up some delta blades at a big box. Never again. Variety and volume prices are just not at the big box stores. I use FD Superior Puzzle blades for my puzzles and Olson's for everything else. There are a lot of brand names out there and many probably come from the same factory. I buy from Mike and Sloan's because they have variety, price and they're nice people who give great service. The blades may be much the same but the supplier makes the difference as Obsessed Scroller brought out in his post. .
amazingkevin
I used in the beginning of my scrolling day a .o16 blade the most that were sold in a variety pack at the big box store cutting 3/4" plywood exclusively,no problems
heppnerguy
It is all about the blades.. Even a cheap saw will cut pretty darn good for a little while with the right blades. but the best saw with lousy blades presents a problem. The first advice I give to a newby scroller is about purchasing the right blades...just my take on it Dick heppnerguy

NC Scroller
Buy them and give them a try on a test piece. I would not try them on a project in progress just in case. That way worst case all you did was throw away tomorrow's lunch money if they do not work out. I was given a sample a couple years back and I was not impressed. They quickly went into the circular file.
sullyscroller
None of the blades from big box stores are for serious scrollers. I've tried almost all of them and they cost twice as much and last for only a few cuts before they are dull. Stick with Mike and you can't go wrong. All i use are FDUR #3 sully
