tigercub
Hi.Phantom scroller .I worked as a kitchen fitter and to hide any star headed screws we used button screw caps which click in to the head of the screw . They come in many different colours and i imagine you could obtain them in most general diy stores . Phantom Scroller

DWSUDEKUM
Roly you could go to one of your hobby stores that sells supplies for the folks that make the miniature train and village scenes they should have something like a ground cover that you could glue on... if it looked like straw or hay it would fit quite nicely. Roly Nice one Roly. Have you got plug cutters????. Or enlarge the holes a wee bit bigger and make wood buttons to cover the screw heads. Just a thought Roly . Rob Roy. Thought of the one Rob this is ply and the cutter would probably splinter the surface and then there's matching the wood for plugs and trimmings then off. If it was hardwood I would have gone for that idea but not on ply, thanks for the input anyway. So far it's the cap or stick on grass idea I'm thinking about. Haa Haa Rob I don't mean real hay, DW suggested strips of model hay /grass used in model train sets etc false grass. There's cheap and then cheap. Multifasited
Can you cut the screws to length an put in from the back?
Phantom Scroller
Can you cut the screws to length an put in from the back? Carl with the width of the base at the back we are talking 3" screws and I'm fresh out of them and the only reason I didn't glue it together was because I put a cloth backing on it and it would not have held hence the screws. I was winging it as I was making it I'm afraid.
Scrappile
I'd glue a strip of Baltic Birch or whatever the wood is across the front to cover the screws. Other than the screws, it is a great looking piece.
Dan
I would do as Paul suggested then add some text over it. Something...the King is born.
ike
Take the screws out Glue the Nativity to the board redrill the holes to fit a Screw plug and make it look like you used screws to hold it in place. it would look better than you have now. lawson56
I like the font idea best.,or maybe the hay.?
Birchbark
Cut two more camels and put those over the screws. Maybe even add two more palm trees to the edges. Russell

spirithorse
Very nice!I would remove the screws, drill the holes out with a large enough bit for the screw heads to recess into, replace the screws and paint white over them. If you drill slightly deeper than the heads of the screws, you can also add scroll saw dust mixed with glue (plain elmers or wood glue), fill the hole and then paint it white. Good luck and God Bless! Spirithorse
heppnerguy
I like the font over the piece or the 'ad the camel' or something like that, idea.. that would give it a 3D affect. Or you could take out the screws and countersink the holes and replace the screws and then ad a wood plug and paint it..or just cut it over again and change the cloth backing with a wooden one and glue it Dick heppnerguy amazingkevin
amazingkevin
I'm surprised you would do a thing like this to leave a black eye as your signature.Take one screw out drill a hole large enough for a dowel to slide in easily and glue it into the project .Do the same for the other screw, scheezh!Don't drink and scroll !
