perezidentualwood
Hey guys, was just wondering how you all get the warp out of plywood? Im doing a few projects and 1/4" plywood is all i can get here in small town oklahoma! Im pretty sure our weather is to blame with it raining one day foggy the next and then sunshine. I have been clamping them bow to bow and getting them wet but it takes too long! Any help would be a great help! amazingkevin
ike
I really don know for sure I would say instead of clamping them down a flat board with some weight on it like a cement block might do the trick.
Multifasited
Plywood by nature is cross laminated &,type wood used ,number of layers ,specifics vary widely to intended use ,price varies greatly as to top vaneer material moisture content #1 cuprit ,thus some acts like sponges and bow to weakest point , major reason OSB is so popular it's flat short grained mulyi directional ,more glue ,or resin less affected by moisture changes some even to immersion in water , best advice i can give buy flatest cut to near size of intended projects lay flat and weight down cover w/ plastic sheet and store in dryest place you have ! no easy answer (just the nature of the beast ) I have seen factory banded bundles on job sight bands cut ,sun and humidity of morning hits it starts to make top sheets look like potatoe chips in a couple hr s.. LarryEA
When wood warps it is hard to remove and mostly useless to try. When plywood warps it exacerbates the problem to correct it. Single ply wood may warp when the temperature / humidity changes. One of the primary reasons why plywood is used. So, when it warps.. Use what you can, toss the rest.... Just my opinion...... perezidentualwood
Thanks guys, just a pain in the butt when it warps! Usually store it in a closet in the spare room with weight on top of it. I have tried puttin a coat of primer on it but it still warps!
