Scrappile Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 (edited) I decided I needed to do one for Christmas. This is a Sullyscroller pattern. Done in two stacked 1/4" Baltic Birch, 3/0 FD spiral blade. It is a great pattern, thank you Mr. Sullyscroller. jscottj Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 Incredible! Love that kind of work. When I try to do that intricate cutting I break part of it and ruin it. My 25 year old Craftsman just won't run smooth enough. I have tried spirals in it.....the cuts are ragged looking as it doesn't stroke without some side to side vibration. The breaking is from that vibration I assume. I envy those who can cut so well. Scrappile 1 Quote
DWSUDEKUM Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 Excellently cut. Thanks for sharing this with us. DW Scrappile 1 Quote
heppnerguy Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 Paul, you are a master of the spiral like is Hans. I tried it again today on a piece I was doing and it was very disappointing. I will try again from time to time but so far, I think they are beating me up pretty badly Beautifully done, I like this pattern also... Dick heppnerguy Scrappile 1 Quote

Scrappile Posted December 19, 2014 Author Report Posted December 19, 2014 Thanks everyone for the nice comments. It is a great pattern and I enjoyed scrolling it although it took me a lot longer than I thought it would. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas. Paul, you are a master of the spiral like is Hans. I tried it again today on a piece I was doing and it was very disappointing. I will try again from time to time but so far, I think they are beating me up pretty badly Beautifully done, I like this pattern also... Dick heppnerguy Dick, the spirals work great for me and I have problems with the straight blades. I don't know why but that is the way of things. I think the only time you really need to be able to use a spiral is if you cut a pattern like Charles Dearing makes, as large as he does. I have never done one that large yet, maybe I never will. wombatie Posted December 20, 2014 Report Posted December 20, 2014 Well you certainly nailed that one Paul, you brought Sully's pattern to life. Gotta be proud of that. Marg Scrappile 1 Quote
sullyscroller Posted December 20, 2014 Report Posted December 20, 2014 Paul you did amazing on that and to do it with spirals is twice as amazing. I can never control them enough to do the tight cuts. Thanks so much for sharing with us. sully Scrappile 1 Quote
