DWSUDEKUM
This is what I use for my blade storage. The pull out drawer sits to the left of my saw. I had a set of drawer slides from a cabinet that reclaimed. For the dust collection I made a simple 8 inch in diameter bowl, cut it in half. Since I had the stand that provided a good base to mount a board with a hole in it for the suction. I glued one of the halves of the bowl to that board. For the suction I was able to find a defective 1 hp harbor freight dust collector. I replaced the motor with an old motor I scavenged someplace a couple of years ago. While it does not get every bit of dust it does for the most part keep it off the floor. It i s not too noisy either. browders
Wow! That blade storage is pretty awesome looking. Regarding the dust collection, I think you've got a pretty good thing there. I'm saving my pennies for a real dust collection system rather than my shop vac. I'd like to be able to have the machinery off in the distance. DW ah HAH!SO there's where the bowls go that don't make it,You big wigs have all the toys!Best i can do now for dust is positive flow ventilation.A fan blowing in air and one blowing out on opposite sides of the shop.Shops small so it works for now!I have a blade storage problem myself .I thank God i have them in containers away from the elements, you've no idea how many times the roof leaked on them.Nice job on your dust collection and blade storage, I got side tracked, lol
Phantom Scroller
DW a question on the motor I might be a bit thick is it not sucking all the dust into the motor how does it work? Roly
DWSUDEKUM
Roly the motor has an impeller on the end of its shaft. The shaft goes through a hole in the wall that I mounted it on, so it is the motor then the wall then the impeller. The only part of this in the sawdust stream is the impeller. Now don't get me wrong here hehe it does leak around the hole a bit but the vast majority of the sawdust goes into the storage bag. I have operated it both ways and at 3am when folks are sleeping here but me I generally do not turn on the collector but let gravity assist me in my saw dust collection. It can be manually emptied at anytime with a shop vac. DW
