realfEZ
This is a rooster I cut from a stencil pattern. You can see my rather happy nephew who's got it as birthday present (He's a rooster in Chinese astrology) . fEZ ;•=)

shadylady0447
That turned out great, fez! I'm curious....it doesn't look like wood. If not, what is it and also what did you use for the background. I like it. Nice job.

If not, what is it and also what did you use for the background. I like it. Nice job. Thanks Sue! I use any material really. Used Masonite for this one. Cut first like any ordinary scrollsaw work. Use a second piece of Masonite as a backer. Stick the two. let fix. Prepare a paste with white acrylic paint and marble sand. Apply with a hard brush all over, to get the rough texture. Sand paper. (Slightly). Varnish. Et voilà ! fEZ ;•=)
Charise2009
That does look awesome! And I just adore roosters - they are peaking out of various nooks and crannies in my kitchen hehe. Where did you find that pattern if you don't mind me asking?
shadylady0447
Thanks for telling me how you made the rooster, fez. I'll look around our shop to see if we have any masonite so I can try your technique. I like the textured look.
