Around the corner
Early Dec was a sad way to start the month with passing of wifes uncle.i asked the membership for some ideas on a cowboy and was given a horseshoe , a cowboy hat etc. Thanks to the members for submitting.I put them on a table with others I found for ideas to make something for his family to salute a cowboy that gave 100% to being a cowboy till the end.It was a tough decision with so many good ideas from here so I put it to a vote from company of relatives, well 80% went with a design which I made in photo, not to discredit the good intentions of what I recieved from here. The cowboy boot was a Steve Good pattern and the cowboy walking away with his saddle came from Gary Browning pattern book. Then I took the picture from his obit and made a pattern from Coyote program then shrunk it using rapid resizer to fit in middle. The lettering was made using caligraphy font on the web.The wood was from notty pine with walnut stand on lower.the back is cut with one eighth baltic birch and sprayed black.Even though a man leaves this physical world I had to point out to others who knew him like the wording on it states he had True Cowboy Spirit. Thanks again for all the help from this organization for all your input in this project, Damian wombatie, tomsteve, Birchbark and 1 other
rjR
I will say that it is very well done! The true cowboy spirit is now becoming rare! Living and treating others as we would they to treat us is the true cowboy spirit! Also do the job and do it well; even though that it a little tough at times! Wilson's Woodworking
Ok tears dried so now I can comment. What a fitting tribute to a tough old lovable cowboy. It is a way of life that is slowly disappearing in this old world and will be missed by the few that remember it. You did a wonderful job of bringing this project together and cutting it. His family will treasure it and have warm happy memories as they look at it. Thank You for sharing this project and a story about a wonderful gentleman. heppnerguy
The family of this man will always think of him whenever they view your thoughtfully designed and cut cowboy boot in his memory. YOU will always be remembered as friend that cared enough to make this wonderful memorial piece that says it all. It is so nice to have a talent you can share with others but giving something a endearing as this one is really difficult to be beat. Certainly is better than anything you could go into a store and purchase. This will find a very cherished place to be hung in their family home for decades to come Dick heppnerguy Around the corner
