Tdub4ever Posted February 4, 2015 Report Posted February 4, 2015 I use painters tape on solid wood, on top only and glue pattern to the tape so there is no residue. On BBP I glue the pattern to the wood. I have tried painters tape on BB, but when I take the tape off it always pulls chuncks of wood off with it. I use clear packing tape only when stack cutting. btree50 Posted February 5, 2015 Report Posted February 5, 2015 I use painters tape on top only. Works great for me. Quote
GrampaJim Posted February 5, 2015 Report Posted February 5, 2015 Painters tape top side only. I have tried top and bottom and didn't like it - it folded over and stuck to the saw table. I couldn't figure out what was wrong bad blade or what. Quote
Multifasited Posted February 6, 2015 Report Posted February 6, 2015 The blue tape people have it by a mile ,Buy stock in a blue tape co . Quote
MrsN Posted February 6, 2015 Report Posted February 6, 2015 I use painters tape on the top. I wrap the edges over if I am stack cutting to hold the pieces together (unless I need more support and use another method) Then I use a regular craft glue stick to stick the paper pattern to the painters tape and cover with a layer of packing tape. Mimi Posted February 7, 2015 Report Posted February 7, 2015 painters tape, glue and then pattern. I think I might have to start using the packing tape sounds like it helps with the blades Quote
Kragax Posted February 8, 2015 Report Posted February 8, 2015 Glue pattern directly to wood, remove with mineral sprits. Quote
jamminjack Posted February 10, 2015 Report Posted February 10, 2015 If cutting baltic birch plywood I use blue tape top and bottom, 3M spray pattern on , and then clear tape over pattern on top. Might seem like a little over kill, however when finished cutting, peel tape , pattern off alltogether. Really helps with the lubercating of reverse blades, and cuts down trementiously on sanding. Nice clean cuts top and bottom. Works for me Quote
Steve Curtis Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 I use the tape so I don't burn any of my blades, they seem to last longer. Quote
artmill Posted February 19, 2015 Report Posted February 19, 2015 I use blue painters tape to hold stack together then spray glue to hold pattern. I will also use spray glue directly on the wood and then use heat gun to remove then clean up w/spirits. Quote
