LarryEA
I'm looking for silhouettes I can use for inlays. My computer is slow/ dialup. I've tried searching but haven't had much success. Any specific places? I'm making small boxes 5" x 3" approx. .. Just lookinh for something simple and pleasing to inlay in the top. Thank you. Jim Finn
I do a lot of inlay like you are planning. I get my images by doing an image search. If you want to do a frog, for instance, do a search for frog drawings or sketches or silhouettes. Then select image search and you will find hundreds of images you can choose from. Before i learned to use a computer well enough I used to get images from coloring books I bought at a Dollar Store. Jim - and you other masters - how about some simple descriptions on how to do inlays with some pictures of the stages or a reference or two to some good sources for a person of limited skills.. I am too intimidated for intrasia but am intrigued by inlay and would like to give it a try.

browders
Steve Good has a couple of videos on inlays which I found to be helpful. Here's the link to one of them.Preview not availableScrolled Round Inlay Box Part Onewww.scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com18,000+ views·6/18/2008YouTube/sdgood. Kind of a crazy looking link so I'm not sure if it will work. You can probably find the video on his website. Jim

Kevx
I found a great way to get all of the silhouettes you might want. Go to a free font website like dafont.com. Go to the DINGBATS section and choose the catagory of image that you want, such as animals. Find a font featuring the type of image that you are seeking, such as horses. Download and install the font on your computer. You can then use the images in any word processing, graphic, or drawing program you like to create great patterns. It is SO easy! Enjoy.. Example... MrsN
The nice thing about using the font method for getting silhouettes is that they enlarge really easily using simple word processing software. Many times the images found on internet searches can be fuzzy when enlarged.
