Fab4 Posted February 12, 2015 Report Posted February 12, 2015 I wasn't going to post this then I thought "what the heck" It may give someone else an idea. 3/4" oak - letters are protruding 1/4". Used #9PG blade. The reviews are mixed on this one. I was trying to get the "illusion effect" Honest opinions are surely welcomed and appreciated Thanks for looking Fab4 Rob Roy, jamminjack, AlfrediaMum and 6 others 9 Quote
Scrolling Steve Posted February 12, 2015 Report Posted February 12, 2015 (edited) Paul, i like what you are doing there!.......Is the inside script cut at an angle and then pushed up to create the relief?...I guess i don't really understand how you did it! ........Thanks for sharing! Hi Steve: There is no relief work at all After I cut out the scripted font it was all in one piece so I just put 1/4" spacers underneath and glued it in place It was a spur of the moment thing. The picture doesn't show it but there small pilot holes om both sections which I puttied before staining. Thanks for asking. Fab4 Scrolling Steve 1 Quote

Phantom Scroller Posted February 12, 2015 Report Posted February 12, 2015 Paul great work I have done this with a 6 deg angle on the letters so it wedges and won't come out. sticking the words on you could use different contrasting woods nice idea. Roly Quote

heppnerguy Posted February 12, 2015 Report Posted February 12, 2015 That a boy, Paul. I can be done with an offset table so that is just automatically become and relief part but either way it works great. I like it a lot and I like your originality on this piece too. Good one.. how was the ice fishing trip ? Dick heppnerguy Quote
