Scrappile
Makes me wonder if they are going to keep Mike's Workshop name for blades... They have been FD selling blades all along. I figured they would just merge his stock into theirs. Anyway, they are out of spirals 3/0 size, that is a concern,,,, I've only got a gross and a half left!!!!!!!!!!!! Service may be slowed a little, I got responses from Mike on weekends. I can handle a little slower.....

OCtoolguy
I sent an email to Mike questioning him about whether or not he had sold his business. About 2 hours later, he called me to say yes, that the deal had just closed and he couldn't say anything to me about it last week because it was still up in the air. He says, nothing will change and his phone number will still be the same and so on. He told me to tell you all that we should all start buying from the new owners because they have a tremendous inventory of blades. So, that should clear everything up. Ray. The shipping charger for that was $6.95, which is about averaged for cataloger sales which is about average They sell both Olson and Flying Dutchman blades, They also have a good selection of patterns. I have used them for years and have no complaints.

Doug
Went to wtb for pricing postage to the Uk was 9 Dollars a lot more then Mikes ---Brian Do not know what you have available in Scotland but Mike did a trademark/copyright of Flying Dutchman and had an exclusive American/Canadian dealership. The blades are actually manufactured by Niqua in Germany and Mike imported and labeled them Flying Dutchman. Anyone selling Flying Dutchman got them from Mike. You might be able to get the same blade under the Niqua name or some other name on your side of the pond. Scrolling Steve
JustLarry
I did a search for Niqua blades in UK and got several hits for availability there. Larry
Sparkey
The only problem is they don't sell the FD new 3/0 spiral that Mike did. The smallest they sell is the 2/0.

jamminjack
Yes guys its true.....Mike is retiring . Steve Goode ran a piece on it in his news letter... Mike said its time, and wants to sit back and enjoy a little. They didn't go into detail as to when it will be completely turned over. JustLarry
In response to comments that blades could still be ordered from Mike: I sent him an e-mail this this evening asking if he was still taking orders. Here is his answer: Hi Larry, I am still getting order but tell the customers that I faxed the order to the Wooden Teddy Bear. www.woodenteddybear.com Phone # 1-503-760-1614 I did not sell any blades after last Sunday. Mike On the scrollsawer.com forum he posted that wooden teddy bear also bought his home page. So, maybe by ordering from Mike's Workshop is the way to get the 3/0 spirals for now. browders
I guess those of us poor schmucks who use Olson blades are still okay. Jim JustLarry and Scrolling Steve
mikewix
The 2/0 and 3/0 spirals from Mike are the only blades I use. Sure hope Teddy Bear will handle both.

Rover2
I made an order through Mike on March 10th. I got a call from Mike and he told me that he faxed my order to the WTB because he is not filling anymore orders. Said that I should be hearing from them in a couple days. I haven't heard from them yet so I'll be calling them tomorrow. See what happens. Al
