Scrappile
I'm curious what you people that sit while scrolling, sit on. I have an old. ventage '70's stool that my MIL was throwing away years ago. It works out to be the correct height for my scroll saw set up, but even with a cushion on it, is killing my posterior and back. I can only last around 20 minutes max and I have to get up and move around. I have been looking for quite a while and found nothing so far to replace it with. It needs to be 24" high at the seat level. Most office type chairs do not go that high. I am not sure if wheels are good. Seems like you would roll when you didn't want to. I don't know, would like to get ideas of what older guys like me use. I've tried standing, but that confuses my brain.... merlin
Tried sitting but never seem to have freedom of movement. Can sit for short periods if the saw is a lot lower and use an ordinary chair. Sorry that does not help you though. ***Merlin***
Bfreeman
I bought a adjustable stool from Sears in the tool area it works good for me . If my back starts to get stiff I go up or down a little really seems to help.

Multifasited
Padded wide armed office chair on wheels ,saw ,sand ,dremel and drill all operate the computer all within 4' of each other ,vac system makes all this possible ,by keeping area clean so wheels will roll .Plus ,I'm Lazy . and my butt never hurts or my back ,788 angle ,sees to that .saws and stand was lowered to 30" ,make what ever you like as whide as you complete Butt and 3" attached cushion ,would help , never liked a stool even padded seemed to have to alway move and remove as the project went on , usually saw bare foot so slight adjustments of the chair is braced by bare feet one one the foot switch the other on the clean floor ,works great . woodknots
I have this chair and love it. I've had one back surgery already and I need another one they want to put pins in. I can sit longer than I use to with this chair I know its a little pricey but to me it was worth every penny and then some. I hope this helps. wombatie
I have two high bar stools with backs, one for each saw. Usually like to go get a coffee or a walk around the garden every half to 3/4 of an hour. Marg
sullyscroller
I use a stool as well thats padded and have a cushion close by. Raising the back of my saw about 6" makes a big difference on my back. sully
Fish
I had an old wooden stool and bolted my old high back boat seat to it. It's perfect for me.
oldhudson
I purchased an adjustable stool from Northern Tool & Equipment. Another scroller recommended it to me. Here's the link: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/category_seats+shop-seats-stools? I've had mine for a couple years and find it pretty darn good. Unfortunately, at the lowest setting, the floor to seat measurement is about 8" greater than the 24" you're looking for. But if you cut off the 4 legs just below the lower support ring, it should be right in the 'ballpark'. I'd think this would be a stocking item so you could see it before opening the wallet. (I wish I knew how to copy a picture from a website and post it?)
courdorygirl
I sit in an old square padded kitchen chair. It's very comfortable and just the right height. If I had to guess, they were probably bought in the early to mid 1970s, as the cushioning is red-orange.
