Christina
I'm sure many of you belong to the Fox Chapel forum and know about Carole Rothman aka Handibunny's first book coming out soon. She makes the most incredible scroll saw bowls! They look every bit as good as the turned bowls. Well she did a video for Fox Chapel too, to promote her book.........you can watch it free: http://www.scrollsawer.com/index.php?news=3215 It's a wonderful tutorial style video and very informational. I just gotta learn to make these bowls! Christina
ugsduck
That is amazing and shows what thinking "outside the box" can do. I would imagine that an Excalibur machine with its tilting head would be the ideal tool.
Vector01
Now that's Kool! Would make some great projects.
qlty
Wow! Never thought I would try making bowls, after watching that video I might give it a go.What size blade do you think one should use?I'm thinking a #7 or larger to prevent drifting off the line. Thanks for posting that.John
Christina
I'm not sure what size blade you would use.........I think it's probably a personal preference. I've not made one YET........but I use spirals exclusively so that's what I'll be using. But she has a book coming out next month.........for beginners to advanced. Patrick Spielman (SP) did a book on scroll saw bowls years ago but you used a router and it was rather awkward I'm told. Carole has simplified the process as you can see from her video. You should check out her blog... http://scrollsawbowls.blogspot.com/ And her book is for sale at Amazon.com or from Fox Chapel... http://www.foxchapelpublishing.com/p-12 ... l-saw.aspx I, for one, have got to have this book! I've seen her work on the Fox Chapel forum and it's just amazing. And the book is not expensive, you can pre-order too. I just thought everyone would enjoy seeing something new.
