In the new ScrollSaw Woodworking & Craft magazine there is a nice featured item on patterns making that features our own family members, Homer and Carol Bishop and their wonderful 3D fish pattern. If you ever thought you would like this challenge, the article is a step by step tutorial as well as the pattern for free, in the pattern pull out section.

 

Also the other amazing intarsia maker that is also a Village family member, Mike Mathieu has a half page article about him while shoeing a couple of his highly detailed intarsia piece. You will want to check out his page if you are unfamiliar with his work. He is truly amazing.

And little old in talented me made the magazine on page 25 where there is a photo of the six wedding boxes I made last year for a local gal to give to her bridesmaids. I never thought anything I did would be in a magazine. I feel honored by that.

Hey Dick what wonderful news.  Can't wait to get my copy of ScrollSaw woodworking magazine.  It is truly a pleasant surprise to hear and see that our fellow villagers are getting

recognized for their craft.  I personally don't know Mike Mathieu, or Homer and Carol Bishop, But I am sure their work is top shelf.  You however I do know your work, and I am so

proud that you are in that issue for your work.   I know for a fact what a craftsman you are,  and so glad that you are getting recognized for your efforts. and very proud to call you my friend.

WOW Dick, congratulations.  That is something to be very proud of.   I do not take the magazine.  I am skeptical of these types of magazines because it seems like after a while they start repeating themselves.  I haven't subscribed to any magazines for several years.  Maybe I need to rethink that.  Mike is one of my idols.  His work is awesome.  One of my biggest thrills was when he made a nice comment on a scroll saw piece I posted on a wood working forum.

Congratulations Dick, I know how you feel, I had an idea published in that magazine quite a few years ago.  Very pleasing isn't it?  Congra'ts also to Carol and Homer Bishop and of course to Mike.

I just got my issue of SSW&C and was thrilled to see some of our members were featured:

 

• heppnerguy - Page 25 shows some boxes he made for a wedding party.
• Bishop - Page 28 has a wonderful article/tutorial on 3D Intarsia written by Homer and Carol.  Beautiful work!
• wdkits1 - Page 72 has a writeup on his amazing intarsia.

That's so great, and Congrats to everyone of them. I want you all to know, I know that Heppnerguy.   Met him personally.  I'm hoping some of his talent rubs off onto me.  He is a great guy.
