Lakelad
Just wondering, what is your favorite wood when you are cutting ornaments?
Kepy
I usually use 1/8" bb but have used 1/4" walnut and oak. The bb is very stable and not prone to breakage in small areas.
Travis
I also use baltic birch ply. Its less prone to breaking, especially with delicate ornaments. I like the look of solid wood, but the ply really adds a lot of strength.
r6239cleo
Depends if I am going to paint the ornament. Usually just use scraps I have saved from larger projects. BB and hardboard would be my first choice.

Firedkm
Try out Sloans Woodshop http://www.sloanswoodshop.com/plywoods.htm
Christina
I haven't made but a couple ornaments so far. But I like the look of the hardwood for ornaments............but BB ply is much stronger. So I guess it's kind of a personal choice. I think if I were doing anything that has a lot of fragile areas I would stick with the BB ply. I've seen 1/8" BB ply on Ebay too. You can find some really great deals there. You can also click on the WoodDealsOnline.com banner at the top of the page.......you might be able to find it there easier. Pixman
We find it hard in our part of the world to get wood under 3/4" from most suppliers. Anything less in a hardwood has to be a special order. If I'm leaving things natural except for a spray of sealer I use marine grade 1/8 to 1/4 plywood either A or B grades. C grade here is 'construction' and the quality goes downhill from there.
