Scrappile Posted May 7, 2015 Report Posted May 7, 2015 Don't feel bad, it is part of the hobby. I had to redo one just because I abbreviated Commander "Cmdr" instead of "CDR" but I felt a lot better about the do over anyway and glad I had to do it. Hang in there.. jerry1939 Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 Hi Steve, If you now spend 3 1/2 hours drinking, that should even out. Right?? jerry P.S. If it bothers to make mistakes, get out of the business. We all probably have a tale or 3 we could tell. Quote
KurtP Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 I've done that. I didn't even know until I gave it to the customer. Quote
koehler788 Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 My profile avitar wasn't the first one, I was 99.9% done when the saw chattered and the piece blew up. Scrolling Steve 1 Quote
OCtoolguy Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 My life wouldn't be complete without making mistakes. I was redoing a closet in my office and I cut four beautiful shelves 1" too narrow. Now they are sitting in my shop waiting for me to find a use for them. Like someone above said, crap happens. My Dad used to say, " I cut it twice and it's still too short". It must run in the family. Ray Scrolling Steve 1 Quote

Hi Steve, sorry to hear you had a hiccup. My old Dad used to say " The man who never made a mistake NEVER MADE ANYTHING". So don't feel bad Steve. Take care and have a good day. Rob Roy. mgmine Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 Yep I just finished up a seesaw with a horses head at both ends. Only problem was that I attached the heads facing the wrong direction. It took an hour to get them perfectly centered only to have to remove them, reinstall them, fix the holes in the plank, sand the plank and repaint it. All in all 2 1/2 hours extra work. The worst part about it is that I looked at it first and was sure it was on right. Quote
Scrappile Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 Mgmine's post above reminds me of one on my Dad when I was a kid. Him and our neighbors Dad decided to build us boys some "go-carts" to play on. They were tired of seeing us mount motors on 2 x 12 blanks with wagon wheels, ropes to steer with,,,. Anyway, in the process of building mine, they had just welded up the steering mechanism and were standing there admiring their handy work. The neighbors wife came into the garage to see what was happening and of course they had to show her. They would turn the steering wheel back and forth to show her how well it worked. Very proud of themselves. She started laughing at them, they asked her what was so funny. She say look at what you did. They turn the steering wheel right, the wheels turned left! Sorry, Dad, just had to tell it one more time. LarryEA and Rob Roy 2 Quote
KurtP Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 Had to reply to this one again. You would think i would learn my lesson to check my spelling before starting to cut something. I made a intersecting word art pattern, showed the customer to get the approval and got the go ahead. Started cutting and got 3/4's done and realized that I spelled the main word wrong. You would think one of us would have noticed. Quote
Jim Finn Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 I've done that. I didn't even know until I gave it to the customer. Same here... Quote
