bACK FROM CRAFT SHOW

Well it was just about like i thought it would be, more crafters and direct sales than customers. I sold $37 worth and my wife  sold $32.50 ( she sells childrens sewing crafts ) sorry i forgot to take pictures. i sold mostly things left over from last year. $4 &$5 items.

Mostly to fellow crafters.  it was a 6 hour sale.  about $6 pr hour. But I like these Craft sales, just some better than others. Its all part of the game.

Well Ike, it's better than nuthin. I usually have a pleasant time and like you, don't make much money.

it is so much better at Christmas time, tell you also i hand out cards, i find a few customers that will call back for work and some of those continue to request stuff

Glad you had some customers Ike.  The early shows are mostly, at least for me meet and greet events.  It is at these that I pass out business cards and chat with the customers a lot.  It gets much better as the season progresses.

Well I Just got back from my craft show and I got my table money back,plus my gas money. So it worth the trip to get to talk to different people out there and i got my business cards out there in a different part of Iowa.My next one is a mile from my house ,that help

Not ure I will ever do another! Every one that I have tried has been mostly a bust!

 

I seem to do better at my own garage sale!

wife and i did our first of the year in Townsend TN. last weekend and did around $700 which is about normal for us. It's all about your location and having more than one type of craft to sell. We have 6 different types so when one don't sell the others do. Don't give up  just keep looking for better shows. it won't happen overnite, we have been at it for 10 years now.

Rallph don't get discouraged it will get better It won't be long till it's will be getting closer to Christmas and then you will do a lot better This time of the year you get to talk to people and get out your cards , I like to talk to people about my craft especially the younger people . but at my age most are younger.

My wife is looking for  one for next month. that'w ok as long as we make table and pay for materials , for me that's not high most of my wood is free.

Try using www.eventlister.com to find shows in your area. it's my fav. for finding shows.you don't have to pay to see whats out there in your area then just google the shows for more info and sometimes get applications.
