Scrappile
Rushing to finish a portrait I promised my son. Put the third coat of finish on it a this afternoon, spray poly, was looking at it before taking it to my drying shelf, and looked like I missed a spot. Grabbed the spray can off the shelf for a little tough up, started spraying and darn, it didn't look right. Maybe a little more is better, spray some more, this is worse. What the heck, then I looked at the can.... adhesive spray!! over the top of wet poly spray!!!! Grabbed the jug of mineral spirits and started wiping. After some serious wiping, I think it is going to be okay. I will wait at while to see how it looks before the final coat. There you go Steve, make you feel better about the little screw-up you posted the other day? I grabbed my "STUPID" sign and paraded around the house. It always seems to happen if we are interrupted; or rushing to finish something out! Scrappile

If I have told you once, I have told you many times, DO NOT TRY TO COPY WHAT I DO. Now you have learned you lesson from doing so. It happens to almost all of us and I would bet that sometime down the line it will happen to me again too.. Sorry friend, you work is way to nice to have something like this happen to you.. At least you did not have to start all over like I did when I screwed up my first Eiffel Tower.. Dick heppnerguy

wombatie
I sprayed over white gloss with some sort of shellac by accident thought oh well that should be OK and of course it wasn't. They were 6 coaster like things can't remember exactly but I had to throw them away and start again. Unfortunately we do not always live and learn, do we? I have learnt now if I am using a spray can of anything to put it on one side so that it does not get mixed up with other spray cans until I am 100% certain that that project is finished.
