CATRK
I'm having trouble cutting small objects on the saw because i'm getting torque from the hole in the center of the scroll saw table and the table not being even. Any suggestions?
amazingkevin
Tape a playing card over the hole ,surrounding the blade.Nothing will fall thru then .Hope that helps Phantom Scroller
WayneMahler
You need to use a zero clearance insert. Kevin suggested a playing card which works well. I have also used regular card board ( pop case )but what worked best for me was a piece of 1/8 inch hardboard cut to fit the table top of my saw. It's smooth as piece slide freely on it. And when the blade hole area gets worn out, just cut another insert for it. Scrolling Steve
dgman
To me it sounds like you need to use a smaller blade.
Scrappile
I collect those magnetic cards businesses give out and want you to place on the refrig door. They work great if you have a table top a magnet will stick to. amazingkevin
terrylee
I use package tape sometimes,
CATRK
tried the packing tape that helped some. I'll try some of the other suggestions. Thanks. I think your right though it needs to be zero clearance with the table just have to figure the best way.
New Guy
Tape a couple of old credit cards or ID's down next to the blade. Steve Good had a video on this.
Multifasited
I think his Tension is too loose ! Sounds like gripping issues ,more than parts falling thru ,could be wrong, happened once before !
CATRK
No the problem is the large hole in the center is covered with a plastic plate which is not level with the table. When I run small projects on there the project tilts a few degrees and doesn't run properly. No problems with tension or blade size.

DWSUDEKUM
I use a small ( 8 x 10 ) plexiglass sheet that I got at Lowes for $3. I put several 1/8 inch rare earth magnets in the plexi sheet and made a hole in the center for the blade... this has served me well for well over 3 years now. tomsteve
I had a craftsman with a plastic throat plate that drove me crazy until I took a piece of 1/8" plywood, traced the table of the saw on it, cut it out , put a 1/4" hole in it for the blade and glued it to the table. Roughed up the surface of the table with 100 grit and clamped the plywood real good until it dried and it worked excellent. No more problems with fragile cuts. CATRK
I ended up using an old vinyl record with the small hole clamped to the table and it worked great. Scrappile
LarryEA
See next post... I was totally lost until the 10th post. So the hole in the center of the table is too large. Simple: * Clamp a 1/16 drill bit in saw blade clamps. *Tape the bottom of the hole shut. *Mix up some plaster and pour it in. *Tape playing card on top. * turn saw on slowest speed until plaster hardens...... Let me know, seems like this is as good as a Ace of Hearts, cardboard box, fridg magnets and packing tape Lets see. LarryEA
One more ... Take table off, epoxy hole closed. Sand smooth. Drill 1/4" hole for blades
