Popular Post Scrappile Posted May 17, 2015 Popular Post Report Posted May 17, 2015 Mikewix did this Sue May pattern last month and posted it. I really liked his so I ordered the pattern and tried it. This is my version, done in 1/2" Cherry. He said it was fragile, and he was certainly correct. Some of the buds on the perimeter are not hanging on by much, even with the backer. I enjoyed cutting it. Right now it just has a fresh coat of BLO/mineral spirits on it. I will spray it with poly or something when it dries in a few days. Thank Mike for the inspiration. rjR Posted May 17, 2015 Report Posted May 17, 2015 Nice! I think; if I even tried that I would break it unrepairable about 9/10 finished--! Real patience and very nice cutting! Scrappile 1 Quote
heppnerguy Posted May 17, 2015 Report Posted May 17, 2015 Paul. You must have gotten more of your favorite spiral blades. Not a piece to try with a fragile wood like Cedar, that is for sure. I like it. Coming your way before too long, it time allows maybe we could stop be and see you and Patti again and take a peak at your shop. Dick heppnerguy Scrappile 1 Quote
wombatie Posted May 17, 2015 Report Posted May 17, 2015 Looks great Paul. I would like to cut it but without the Welcome at the bottom but not sure I am game. Marg Scrappile 1 Quote

Scrappile Posted May 17, 2015 Author Report Posted May 17, 2015 Exceeded my "Like This" quota today, so I want to say thanks for the nice comments. Dick, I did it with flat blades. Various types and sizes, trying to decide which works best for me. Let me know when you are headed this way. Gone next weekend and gone the first week or so in June. Very nice job Scrappile, it's way over my head at this point. I'll be happy when I can even attempt something that difficult. Ray Ray go for it, one hole/cut at a time. No more difficult, just more of them. You can do it. Quote

mikewix Posted May 22, 2015 Report Posted May 22, 2015 Copy away Paul. Glad you liked mine enough to do it. I like it in the cherry and the 1/2 " gives it some depth the 1/8 didn't. Great job. Mike I'm up north at the cabin for the summer and miss my saw, have a dr. app. in a week may bring my saw back when I come. Until then I'll keep an eye on you guys and I may find something I like to copy too. Scrappile 1 Quote
