WigWag Workshop Posted May 26, 2015 Report Posted May 26, 2015 Good Day Folks! Now that the Grandkid, is living close by, Pappy needs some idea's and even some links for some toys I can build for him. He just turned 3 years old, so the projects does not have to include, just scroll sawing. Thank You in Advance for your comments and suggestions, -Steven Quote

bandaideman Posted May 26, 2015 Report Posted May 26, 2015 As you look at the suggested links above I have always found small easy to cut cars, trucks etc out of 2x4's is a hit for boys and girls. You will find other things they will love. I think what ever Pappy makes they will be happy. Quote
Scrappile Posted May 27, 2015 Report Posted May 27, 2015 Yep, MrsN beat me to it. I built these for my Grandson, when he was three. The stake truck is a Wood Magazine plan and the little pickup I just did free hand. Quote

Phantom Scroller Posted May 27, 2015 Report Posted May 27, 2015 I love toys and MRSN is right it's a great forum for toys I use it a lot and buy plans. Quote
MrsN Posted May 27, 2015 Report Posted May 27, 2015 Bandaid man brought up a good point with 2x4 cars and trucks. Simple car and truck shapes with wheels make excellent toys that are indestructible. Sandbox, dirt pile, mud hole, kiddy pool...they go everywhere. Young kids can help "pound" in the axles and often love to paint their cars. Jim Finn and Phantom Scroller 2 Quote
Jim Finn Posted May 27, 2015 Report Posted May 27, 2015 I have made and sold a lot of simple toys for toddlers. Poplar works well, as does pine. I have no plans I just "dreamed them up." Here are some of them: Quote
