Phantom Scroller
I've made this box in oak and I'm not sure if to line it with a coloured backing or not. What do you think? Roly bobscroll, Fish, amazingkevin and 2 others
DWSUDEKUM
Roly what you can do to see if you like it or not is go to the hobby store purchase some sheet felt and cut one to see if you like it. If you are going to do the inside totally you probably should look at putting in a liner then flocking it. Just a thought. Nice work btw. amazingkevin
Nice box, well i'm undecided ,seeing it in person would help more ,sorry! Phantom Scroller
Dan
I think it would look good with colored backing. It would show more contrast and keep any small items from falling out or getting caught. Phantom Scroller
Scrolling Steve
Roly, There is only one solution.....Build another one and line it....Then keep the one you like best and ship the other one to me! !! DW Good point DW I have different coloured felt and card I was thinking ply and then spraying it but great idea to test with felt or coloured card save the ply if I don't like it. cheers. heppnerguy
I like to cut an 1/8 inch thick ply and paint it what ever contrasting color i am interested in for my boxes and then I glue them onto the side of the box. i usually do not put one on the bottom of my boxes but one could if the choose to. I have never been a fan of colored felt because the the wrinkling factor involved with it, especially when it has a lot of fret cuts like this box you made..nice box by the way Dick heppnerguy Phantom Scroller
Clem
I agree it is a very nice box. I think I would leave it with no lining Clem Phantom Scroller
LarryEA
No lining especially if you use adhesive.
Fish
Both that I have made I didn't put anything in. I think they look better like that. Nice work!
WayneMahler
Beautiful box. I also agree with Dan. But since you have felt and card, that would be easier to look and decide which you prefer

woodduck
If you could find some thin coloured plastic & line it with that it would look nice especially if the light could shine through the plastic, just a thought Cheers Peter
