Kevin Latimer
thanks to someone, i have now been able to make a cutting for my steelers cave, (man cave) I still need to get better with my straight lines and turns, but i like how my first attempt at it came out. The hole to the right is for a clock, i cheated here though and just used a forstner bit lol Lucky2, TripleJScroller and bobscroll
rjR
Good work! Although no "sports fan" of any kind; I do like nice work! If it is too damned straight of lines it looks "COPUTER" made! I like each piece hand made better! Drill bits are an essential part of woodworking! Not Cheating! Edited May 31, 2015 by rjR
dgman
Nice work for your first piece! I make lots of clocks and would never atempt to cut the mounting hole on the scroll saw, always use a forstner bit.

woodduck
Nice work mate I found that straight lines were harder to do than curves ,keep practicing & it will all come together .
DWSUDEKUM
NIcely done. Kevin you will find that long straight lines and circles are the toughest to do. Thanks for sharing this with us. DW
wombatie
I'm with Woodduck, give me a curve any day, hate long straight lines, but they do become easier once you really know your saw and the blades you use and then they are a cinch. Your work looks great and what makes it more special is that you cut it. Marg
TripleJScroller
Looks great and a great addition to any Steelers fan's man cave! Straight lines can take some getting used to, but make sure your blade is nice and tightly tensioned. Good tension makes the straight lines a bit easier. LarryEA
It looks great to me. The word STEELER looks straight. Great job! I have two Forstner bits, cheap one that I use to scribe where I will cut the circle. Then I use the scroll saw.

penquin
Kevin, that came out super. Like the look of it. Use a team color for the background and you got a keeper. Thanks for showing this one to us, look forward to seeing more of your work. jim penquin

Phantom Scroller
Kevin good job the lines will come with practice so don't worry you will never stop learning just get better everyday. You can't go wrong remember the patterns are guides if the wood get thin as you go make it thicker. Soap box finished Roly
