heppnerguy Posted June 9, 2015 Report Posted June 9, 2015 I was at the post office last week where I delivered a plaque I made to give to a local mail carrier and she showed it to everyone who walked in, while I was getting my mail out of my mail box. ( we have elected to have a post office box instead of having our mail delivered to our house) While I was getting into my car a lady that lives in a community located in the mountains, outside of town, stopped me and told me she wanted me to make a sign for her. I finished it today and I tried to keep the mountain theme within the sign. I have to spray a couple of layers of finish on it and put the hanger on it too but anyway. this was what I came up with.. I hope she likes it. I wlll let you all know if she decided to reject it. Dick heppnerguy Travis, Rob Roy, Scrappile and 5 others 8 Quote
LarryEA Posted June 9, 2015 Report Posted June 9, 2015 That sign is like Grandma's cooking. It's the best. That's a sign to like. Quote
Ron Johnson Posted June 9, 2015 Report Posted June 9, 2015 Very well done Dick. If by chance the lady doesn't like it (which I don't she will) just forward it to me. Quote
DWSUDEKUM Posted June 9, 2015 Report Posted June 9, 2015 Very nicely done Dick. I am sure that she is going to love that. Thanks for sharing this with us. DW Quote
Around the corner Posted June 9, 2015 Report Posted June 9, 2015 Nice of you to give it to a mail carrier. He or she will treasure that for life. I know one and very often their job is thankless dealing with all the elements outside so someone like you will make their day. Well done Dick Quote
Gordster Posted June 9, 2015 Report Posted June 9, 2015 Far from reject, real nice sign and great cutting Quote

Jim Finn Posted June 9, 2015 Report Posted June 9, 2015 Very nicely done. I once made a custom inlay on a box that the customer rejected. I sold it at the next weeks sale very easily. Quote

heppnerguy Posted June 9, 2015 Author Report Posted June 9, 2015 Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I talked with the gal on the phone this morning and she is going to stop by the house on Thursday afternoon, that will be on Late Friday morning for you, Marg and see if it is something she is interested in. I'll let you all know what she says. Personally I am expecting that she. Will reject it. I think this will be the last custom order I will bother with. Dick Heppnerguy Quote

heppnerguy Posted June 11, 2015 Author Report Posted June 11, 2015 We'll I am pleased to say that the lady came to pick it up and she said with a smile," I love it !" Made me happy. I really did not like the simulated frame very much. Too wide for my liking. Dick heppnerguy Quote
Scrappile Posted June 12, 2015 Report Posted June 12, 2015 You are your worst critic, Dick. That was very nicely done. Quote
