wombatie
This is smudgers pattern. I cut it in cedar which was a breeze to cut but it didn't take the finish too well. Oh well never mind. Andrews made the pattern as a tie hanger but I don't have any ties just scarves, works just as well but for thinner scarves. Thanks Andrew. DWSUDEKUM
Very nicely done Marg. I like that in cedar. As for finishing for me at least I found that if I sealed the work with Tung Oil then a finish would go on. Cedar is a one of those naturally oily woods so you either have to seal the wood so further oil does not make it to the surface or you need to use a solvent and remove the surface oils ( which will come back ) before finishing. Thanks for sharing this with us. DW Gordster, wombatie and amazingkevin
Phantom Scroller
Nice Marg. I made one similar for my belts and the hook snapped off, so I think the next one I will reinforce the hook part with a couple of bits of ply one each side.
