Hi Gordie.

Did you cut the letters out and then paint them before replacing. ? I ask as I can't see any signs of pilot holes.

Hi Paul...I cut them out on a 5 or 6 degree angle, and cut counterclockwise. That makes them stand out

about an eighth of an inch or so.Yes I paint them and then replace them.I stain the wood for base and then spar

varnish it.I don't put spar on the paint as it turns them yellow.

Didn't know that cutting counterclockwise would make a difference. You learn something new every day. 👌.

Still not sure why I don't see any sign of pilot holes.

I use 1/16 th inch bit and usually drill in bottom of the letter somewhere.

I tilt the table to the left and cut counter clockwise.Now in the letter O in Knotty , I cut

that center Clockwise, and it protrudes in the other direction.give this

a try, you will pick it up in a sec..enjoy
