oldhudson
For those of you who have your saws mounted on a stand with casters....did you get them with the stand or buy them afterwards. Any pictures of scroll saw stands with casters to share?
Robert H. Bigart
I put 3 casters on my recycled push cart that are only 1 and 1/2 inch in diameter. I wanted small ones because I don"t move it that often, and 3 because it is sits even on the floor for less vibration. campasano
I cut a 1/2" ply in a triangular shape to mount onto my Hegner stand and screwed 3 locking casters to the ply. It make it easier to roll the Scroll Saw around the shop. Mike
ike
I have a dw788 mounted on a Porter C scroll saw stand, I put a piece of plywood on the back legs with small casters which puts the saw at an angle which i like. I store the saw under a 30 in shelf ans slide it out when I use it ( about 3 ft.0) i get no vibrations with it and it is easy to move and store. My work shop is a 10'X12' shed. rjR
I had a home made stand before with actual blow-up small tires like are found on hand trucks. I had made it adjustable with a screw type jack--- it had 3 larger pipes over the top of three smaller ones that could slide up and down. I had made a heavy metal screen that the saw stood on and a metal piece about 8" channel iron about 1-1/2 " below the screen and the screen was welded too it. The jack could move it up --gravity down, There were also 3 lock screws to maintain the position, It sat on the wheels and a large rear foot. I could grab it by the front edges and wheel it out on the gravel and work outside easily. If you make one make sure the pipes that are larger are the top ones--avoids a problem with sawdust causing binding. Sorry no pictures; it was destroyed a few years back! I wish I had modified it (to fit the DeWalt 788) and not even assembled the DW stand. It stood more solid and I had adjustable height! Now I just have plastic slide things for furniture under the DW. I do not move this saw as much so that part is fine. I do miss the adjustable height feature though! If you can make the stand that fits you! Easier to build adjustment into a metal one than a wooden one! But that can be done too. The screw type cheap jack worked well on a fairly heavy saw. WayneMahler
My sw is stationary on a homemade stand. Never had the need to move it. I do have other tools on moveable stands and will admit it adds to the convienence of the tool.

Doug
I did not put casters on my scroll saw stand. I put 4 inch locking swivel casters under 3/4 inch plywood and then bolted the scroll saw stand to the plywood. I also put a bag of water softener salt on the plywood to give extra weight to avoid vibration.
