amazingkevin
I believe it's a related problem of the blade coming loose.fix that you should be back in business.Could be the oil on your finger tips where you pick up the blade to install it. woodduck
Could it be that maybe the blade is somehow catching on the blade hole on the upstroke & causing the blade to pull out of the top clamp, maybe too much pressure on the workpiece, just a thought. bandaideman
i have found with my EX 21 sometimes I get the blade just into the position but barely. I have done it with top but more with getting in the top first then don't reach bottom correctly and pulls out. and this may not happen with every blade just some I measure thinking they are short some how but not. If I have a blade doing this I just make sure I have enough blade in the top and then will loosen the tension a little and see how it fits below and then tension. I hope I made some sense. I just make sure there is just a little more than just the very tip in the holder.
WayneMahler
I don't have ex yet. But you issie sounds to me to be propor blade tensining. Any thime I hve run into this I have found a "loose" blade is the issue. Try making sire you blade ensionis correct and that you are square with the table. ike
It could be cheep blades. that make them break. and for the blade slipping try some screw siege it really helps.
NC Scroller
Blades come with a light oil coating on them to keep them from rusting. Trying lightly sanding or wiping with alcohol the blade ends before inserting them in the holder.
Lucky2
John, if the blade is bending from front to back or vise a versa, it's more likely the tiny tip insert in the blade clamp screw. When the blade clamp is being tightened up against the blade, the tip of the screw is supposed to turn so that this doesn't happen. I don't think that the tip in your clamp screw is rotating against the blade, I think that it is twisting the blade instead. If this is what's happening when you tighten up the screw, then it can and most likely will pull the blade out of the top blade holder. Try twisting the little tip on the screw, if it rotates without much effort, then I doubt that this is your problem. Now, if your blade is bending from side to side, it's much easier to fix, it's just a matter of adjusting the set-screw on the blade clamp. It's the screw that is on the left side of the clamp, opposite from where the clamp screw is installed. Either one of these two issues can cause the problems that you are having, hopefully one of these two fixes will correct the problem.
