ike
I bought a scroll saw from a friends mother in law . The Hus Husbin been dead for about 2 years and she said I could try it out to make sure that it runs good. he bought it about 7 years ago it was refurbished. It's a DEW788 The table has rust on it but I can cure that with some Masonite or such. and the Charge is $150. I don't feel like I can go wrong by trying it out for a month as she said I could. It makes a good back up for my DW788. IKE MetalScroll, oneleggimp and Smudger

rjR
That table will clean up with paste wax--steel wool and Work! Then keep it waxed will be better than reducing capacity by a top cover!
NC Scroller
Zen, look on the motor. It should say Type 1 or Type 2. If a Type 1 it was made in North America and a great machine.
ike
It is about 7 years old and the nomenclature on the motor is missing. By the age os it I would say it is a #
Jim Finn
I have a Hegner and a Hegner back-up saw. I then found an old Jet scroll saw. I now have two saws set up on stands and one Hegner under the bench. Life is good.
oldhudson
Sounds like a steal. Here in the upper midwest used DeWalts all see to be 350-400.

By the age os it I would say it is a #1 Sorry Zen but I bought my Type 2 in 2002. From what I understand the last Type 1's were made in 1999-2000. ike
My dw went down last November and I was lost for 2 weeks while it was on repair. I told my wife if it goes down again I will buy a chippie to hold me over. I am real happy with it if it is a good runner. the seller is a religious regions person she wouldn't sell anything she knew wasn't right. WayneMahler
Nice find Ike. I have 4 machines in my shop. 3 dead and 1 running Waiting to order an EX-21. The Type 2's I understand were trouble some, but from the years, I would hope you got a Type 1 Best of luck with your new toy Phantom Scroller
