amazingkevin
What a day this turned out to be ,Money came in the mail, somebody mowed my lawn,i got a full belly for a change and i found some patterns to scroll that didn't take long plus i sold the meditating table today too ,and was given some 2x4 white woods .I've been wanting some for compound projects i wanted to do lately just to play around and do something different and give away.I 'm sending a big package to schofeild wisc. some fret work,John3:16 ,13" x 13" in walnut and a couple of free bee's to boot.Lots of bubble wrap used and triple cardboard for strength in shipping .It is what it is isBLO mixed with danish oil .Oh the playdoh one i did went bad,it shrunk up.I'm going to seal it this time as a test so i can find quick an easy ways to get things out the door the look great. And then a big order came in for 4 more "Sheila landry sleighs and reindeers in oak and aromatic red cedar ,he provides the wood.Very good day today.I gave muhammad his name today ,boy was he excited for an old guy, lolYounger than me though, lol I sprayed BLO and light tinted danish on" it is what it is". wombatie
Find yourself some Polymer Clay it works well and does not shrink and go off but you do have to put it in the oven to harden. Congrat's on your great day, one of those a week would be awesome. Works great as always Kevin. Marg

DWSUDEKUM
Great work Kevin. Thanks for sharing this with us. Find yourself an old toaster oven, that will handle things up to around 8 inches long or so and 6 wide and it works well for the polymer clay bake for smaller items. You might even be able to get inventive and line a medium sized cardboard box with aluminium foil ( being as you are in sunny Florida and make a solar oven...) not sure how hot that would get but it would be easy and mostly free to use Might be something to think about. I have seen YouTube videos on solar furnaces hot enough to melt metals and ovens that reached 300 - 350 degrees or there about. Steve Good played around with using a microwave to cook the polymer clay. I have not tried the microwave for it so I am not positive on the amount of time for that. Just some thoughts on what to use for an oven to bake the polymer clay in sunny Florida. DW amazingkevin

merlin
Hey Kevin a great day except one .... the play doh If it gets that hot in your car you could bake the polymar clay in there ***Merlin*** Southern Scroller
Southern Scroller
Beautiful work as usual. As for an oven, if you can get a fish box from a wholesaler or retailer at a fish market, line it with foil and you have an oven. We used them in boy scouts to cook at campouts. Power by charcoal. The toaster oven idea is better though. Probably pick up one at a thrift store or inherit from someone who has replaced one that had become coated in funk. The funk will scrape off and you'll have a beautiful shop tool. amazingkevin
