don in brooklin on
I have designed a couple of my own Intersecting Word Arts and now want to cut. Question - What kind of wood and thickness is everyone using? Thanks Don
amazingkevin
I've been using plywood .Some times it's a few ply some times well over 13 ply.3/4" thick with a scroll reverse # 7-#9-or #12 blade
GrampaJim
I usually use 1/4" oak ply with a 1/4" BB backer that is painted black. The oak has a nice grain that people like. If you stack cut, you get more than one from each cutting.

woodworker13403A
I have been using 1/8" maple that I stack 3 at a time. Then I mount 1 onto a 1/2" piece of pine that I stained Early American. Sometimes I will put a piece of colored vinyl behind the maple for a different look. heppnerguy
it seems just like, "what is the best scroll saw blade". I guess you just give it a go and if you think you might something a little better, you try that. When suddenly, you find the one YOU like best. All work, Dick heppnerguy GrampaJim
don in brooklin on
Thanks everyone. I am one the way to my wood supplier to see if they have any oak. I usually don't cut oak but will try a couple of different woods. Thanks again Don
