jerry1939 Posted September 19, 2015 Report Posted September 19, 2015 I bought a new Performax (they are not made anymore) for $70 about 10+ years ago. It died peacefully in it's sleep. There was no suffering. I have been reading the reviews and a lot of you are saying that the Taiwan saws are not greased adequately, so after watching this video; I took it apart. The lube job was only "fair," so I greased accordingly. Here is what is interesting. The inside of a Delta is identical to the Dewalt 788 in the video. Only the exterior, paint, decal and possibly the on/off switches are different. jerry Scrolling Steve 1 Quote

But i re-greased real good all the other ones by taking them out and palming the new grease in them.It made a world of difference as I'm sure you'll notice right off the bat when you fire her up! Good for you!I was curious to know if they were the same machine or not.You could do everybody concerned a big favor by taking ohm meter readings of the circuit board .This will help us determine weather to buy a motor or circuit board for our none working fuse blowing machine,Thanks! oneleggimp 1 Quote
LarryEA Posted September 19, 2015 Report Posted September 19, 2015 Hey Jerry, you've already got your saw but I have to mention there is another difference, $$$$PRICE$$$$$ I have two Deltas and only had a problem with very fine sawdust getting in the on/off switch. I covered the switches and they are a great saw. Quote
jerry1939 Posted September 20, 2015 Author Report Posted September 20, 2015 Hi Larry, I intentionally omitted mentioning price, as I didn't want to irk Dewalt or Dewalt owners. jerry oneleggimp 1 Quote
