heppnerguy
My daughter also asked me to do a name for the birthday party she was attending today so I found a piece of wood in one of my wood barrels and decided to use it because it has been hanging around here for a long time and thought it was about time I get it out of here. I have no idea what kind of wood it is but it is very hard and heavy. It had a green color until I sanded it, then it turned brown once more. Anyone know the species of this wood? Dickheppnerguy can not figure out how to rotate my photo. sorry. It might be OK for Roly as he is most likely laying on the ground, guarding his beer anyhow Edited September 26, 2015 by heppnerguy oneleggimp, WayneMahler, bobscroll and 2 others

heppnerguy
Hickory maybe. Hard to tell from a picture. I have never knowingly had any Hickory and it very well could be.. after sitting for a year or two it looked greenish.. when i sanded it , it turned brown. Is that a characteristic of Hickory? Hickory is a very heavy very very hard would but takes a beautiful finish.
