heppnerguy
When I was in grade school I used to make these and amazed my friends with them. After I had them balance a belt off the end of their finger with one of these, I would give it to them. They loved them. I thought it would be a fun item to have in a craft show booth to attract attention and get people to ask about them. You could sell them for 1 or 2 dollars each, or give one away with any other purchase or just give them away free. They take about one minute to make and you can get some out of about any scrap wood you have laying around. It should be at least 1/2 inch thick. you can make them almost any length up to 4 inches and down to 2 1'/2 inches, if I remember correctly. You can experiment for yourselves. A wide belt works best. Just something to think about , Many of you probably remember having them as a kid Dick heppnerguy wbr
spirithorse
Cute, Dick, Do you have an actual pattern or drawing of one of these?I seem to recall something similar to this with a notch in it similar to a boot jack that was meant to hang a guitar from but, never gave it much thought because I would never take the chance of damaging a guitar with some unforeseen accident! Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse

heppnerguy
It is something you do not need a pattern for, all you need to do is cut something even close to the design and it will work. I did attach one anyway Dick heppnerguy
Smudger
Saw something similar but it has a hole in to and it balances a wine bottle in it
kywoodmaster
Hey Dick. That is really cool. I saw that on Steve's site a few days back and reminded me of a guy I did shows with. He would have a ball with the kids with this. He would fail to tell them that the belt needs to be centered to balance well. We would laugh at the kids and some parents trying it until he gave away the secret. They are great to attract attention to your booth and cheap enough to give away to the kids.
