woodduck Posted October 25, 2015 Report Posted October 25, 2015 (edited) As I live in a major wine producing region I have managed to get a big stack of these oak boards from a winery I believe they use them stacked up in a stainless steel vat to impart the oak flavour to the wine,a modern twist to the oak barrels I guess. When they are cleaned up & polished they have a lovely reddish brown colour which has been produced from the wine. the boards are 36" x 3" x 1/4". I have used some in a plaque for my grandson Matty & you can check it out in the Bragging Rights section. Edited October 25, 2015 by woodduck LarB, oneleggimp and amazingkevin 3 Quote
MrsN Posted October 25, 2015 Report Posted October 25, 2015 Very pretty color. I would try staining with wine, but it seems like a waste of wine. woodduck 1 Quote

woodduck Posted October 26, 2015 Author Report Posted October 26, 2015 Kev the polish I used is from an Aussie company called U Beaut Polishes. You just put a small amount on a rag & rub it in & repeat as many times as needed to get the desired finish,I have enclosed a picture of the product. Cheers Pete. amazingkevin 1 Quote
