What type of lighting do you use?

My shop was outfitted with 4' flourescent fixtures 10 years ago. Now the ballasts are starting to fail.

I recently purchased 4' LED lights from Costco @$40 each. They are the plug in type so I am waiting for an electrician to come and hard wire install them. I'd do it my self but I'm not too steady on a ladder anymore.

Here is the product description:  http://reviews.costco.com/2070/100155638/feit-electric-company-feit-electric-4-led-shop-light-2-pack-reviews/reviews.htm

Well I have just replaced all my lights in the house with these leds

they are brilliant bright but not blinding lovely warm white.

In my workshop I have a double strip light in warmwhite and I am now thinking of replacing them with led bulbs 3 of them left right and middle and one over the lathe slightly dearer than your standard buld but leds last forever and there getting better everday should last me out. Roly

PS: Forgot to say you can touch them and they're not hot how good is that.

I'm with Roly on this one.  Anytime I replace a light fixture/bulb now I go LED.  Great bright light, last longer than any other type of bulbs, Initial cost more than others, but last a lot longer, do not have to dispose of as hazardous waste, energy efficient, and probably the only thing I do or talk about that is "politically correct  .

I also do not experience eye problems with LED that I do when using fluorescent light.
